TECH NOTES
      This is a 1/72 Fieseler Fi156 Storch Plastic Model Kit from Academy.

 The Fi156 was the primary battlefield observation and reconnaissance aircraft
of the German Air Force during WWII.  Featuring a high aspect ratino wing with
leading edge slats and flaps, the plane had excellent STOL (short take-off and
landing) characteristics.  A Storch piloted by German spy Otto Scorzny was used
to rescue Italian dictator Mussolini in 1943.  At the end of WWII, the French
Morane-Saulnier company continued to produce the aircraft for the French Air
Force.  This version was powered by a radial engine and was designated the
MS 500/502 Criquet.
