ACY2106 Academy Plastics 1/72 B-17B Flying Fortress
TECH NOTES
This is a 1/72 B-17B Flying Fortress Airplane from Academy Plastics.
The B-17B was the first version of this famous aircraft to enter service.
As such, it was vastly different from B-17's that operated at the end of WWII,
with its gracefully tapered fuselage and none of the defensive armament for
which the type would become famous.
FEATURES: Detailed 1/72nd scale for static display only.
Markings included for 1 aircraft.
Appx. 140 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel
lines.
Detailed engine fronts and correct cowlings for B-17B.
Cockpit detail: floor, instrument panel with decal, seats, and
controls.
Detailed bomb bay with bomb racks, bombs and positionable bomb doors.
Instruction manual is illustrated with photographs and cutaways of
actual aircraft.
Service History: USAAF; 1940-41.
Description: 4-engine daylight medium bomber.
MARKING
OPTIONS: Single sheet of decals which contains national insignia, instrument
panel, aircraft ID numbers and code letters, nose art, and wing
walk bands.
Markings included for B-17B "BB10", USAAC 2nd Bombardment Group
Flagship.
Overall: Natural aluminum with black anti-glare panels; red, white
and blue striped rudder; grey, red and yellow segmented cowlings.
Additional Paints Required:
Flat: Black, Interior Green, Tan, Metallic Grey, Yellow, Burnt Metal,
Grey, Aluminum, Red, Blue, Orange, Light Grey.
Gloss: Silver, White, Gun Metal.
