ACY2111 Academy Plastics 1/72 B-29A Superfortress
TECH NOTES
This is a plastic 1/72 B-29A Superfortress Airplane from Academy Plastics.
The B-29A was the largest allied bomber to serve in WWII. It flew mostly
on missions in the Pacific, due to its long range and large payload. The
B-29's also featured remotely operated gun turrets for defense.
FEATURES: Detailed 1/72nd scale for static display only.
Markings included for one aircraft: "Big Time Operator".
Appx. 170 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel
lines.
Correct uncuffed propellers with detailed engines and cowlings.
Cockpit detail: floor, instrument panels, pilots seats and controls,
full rear cockpit with navigator and radio operators positions.
Detailed bomb bay w/ bomb racks, positionable bomb doors, & crew
access tube.
Detailed rear gunner's compartment with seats and rest beds.
Service History: USAAF; 1944 through the mid 1950's.
Description: Heavily armed, 4-engine daylight heavy bomber.
MARKING
OPTIONS: Single sheet of decals which contains national insignia, instrument
panel, aircraft ID number and code letters, and nose art for B-29A
ID #4 "Big Time Operator" which flew in the Pacific theatre.
Additional Paints Required:
Flat: Black, Interior Green, Tan, Metallic Grey, Yellow, Burnt Metal,
Grey, Aluminum, Red, Blue, Orange, Light Grey.
Gloss: Silver, White, Gun Metal.
