BILB2600   Billing Boats   1/100 Bluenose II 52cm

TECH NOTES

This is the 1/100 scale Bluenose II by Billings Boats.  In shipping and
yachting history you will find the Schooner Bluenose is mentioned several
times.  It was launched in Nova Scotia in 1921, and was built as a fishing boat
to operate in the rough waters off the coast of Newfoundland.  Very soon its
speed became apparent and she won all the great classic sailing races on the
American east coast.  Just imagine a fishing boat which became the fastest
yacht.  Its glorious career was finished in 1946 on a reef near Haiti, but the
memory about her is still going strong.
