CNS80828   Constructo   1/58 Prince De Neufchate

TECH NOTES

The Constructo Prince de Neufchatel is a 1/56th scale static display model of
an armed 2-masted schooner from the war of 1812. Plank-on-frame hull
construction is simplified by the provision of a laser cut plywood central keel
and hull frames.  However, this is not a beginner kit. Many cast metal and
machined wood accessories along with turned brass cannons are provided to
allow for a high level of detail with minimal effort. Canvas sail material is
also provided along with the accessories needed to rig the masts.

Features: Plank on frame hull construction with laser-cut plywood keel and
transverse hull frames to minimise the required parts preparation.
Die cut plywood upper hull sides and deck base (it gets planked over)
Cast white metal detail parts and turned brass cannons
Two types of wood (dark and light) for hull and deck planking allow
for an attractive finish with only a varnish topcoat
Enough thread for simulating ropes on deck and rigging.
Easy to follow photo-illustrated instructions and full size plans

Includes: (1) Laser cut sheet of hull frame parts
          (1) Die cut ply sheet of deck and hull parts
          (2) Brass caronades and (16) brass deck cannon w/ cast metal bases
          (2) Cast metal anchors
Ample supply of sail material and rigging thread
Generous quantities of hull and deck planking (the kit appears to use
tropical woods but the planks are a dark wood similar to mahogany
and a light wood similar to birch or pine
Three varieties of blocks and deadeyes for the rigging
          Simple wood stand

Requires:  Basic building tools: hobby knife, razor saw, sandpaper
Adhesives: white (elmer's type) glue for wood parts
CA for metal parts (epoxy would probably work as well)
Paint: The built up example on the box has been finished with onlyan
                  clear varnish top coat.

Dimensions:
          Length: An impressive 39 3/4" (101cm)
          Beam (width): 15 1/3" (39cm)
          Height : 25 1/2" (65cm)
